| Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What metal qualities
are available?
We offer various qualities of metals in our rings: 18K, 14K, 10K, Silver Elite, Questra, and Lustrium.
18K - Is made up of 18 parts gold
and six parts alloy (75% pure gold). This quality is available for those who want
the highest quality gold content available in class rings today.
It is available in white or yellow gold in all styles and designs.
14K - Is made up of 14 parts gold
and ten parts alloy (almost 60% pure gold). This quality is available for those who want
the higher gold content in their class rings. It is available
in white or yellow gold in all styles and designs.
10K - Our most popular quality. 10K
has ten parts gold and 14 parts alloy (over 40% pure gold). It is available in white
and yellow gold in all styles and designs. Silver Elite - A precious metal alloy composed of 76% silver, 10% platinum, and 14% other metal alloy. This metal quality is coated with rhodium plating which is a member of the Platinum metals group. Rhodium is a silvery, metallic colored precious metal. It is an extremely hard material and is highly resistant to corrosion and it is used extensively in the fine jewelry industry. Rhodium provides protection for Silver Elite, coating it to help prevent tarnish and scratches. It is very durable and prevents skin oil from dulling the ring. Rhodium is most commonly plated on white gold and sterling silver jewelry. Questra/Yellow Lustrium - Jostens' space age metal of the stars. Same characteristics as Lustrium, but yellow in colour because of coating with 23 karat yellow gold. Questra
is an affordable, hard wearing metal alloy fusion mixture (nickel
and chromium). It is visually identical to a 10k gold ring. Lustrium - A non-precious metal alloy that is silver in colour. It is a hard metal and fairly durable, but does not have the same value and characteristics as gold and platinum. The fusion process bonds the metals throughout the ring so it will survive scratches and bumps, and still
look the same as there is no "base" metal underneath.
2. What are the Antique
Finish & Natural Gold Finish?
Our exclusive ANTIQUE finish
is a hand applied black-lacquer which goes onto the surface of
the ring. This highlights the detail of the raised portions of
the bezel top (usually the coat-of-arms or crest) and lettering.
The finish will wear over many years, but we will re-antique it
free of charge for you at a later date.
You can instead if you wish have your ring made with a NATURAL
finish. This has no black highlighting at all.
